What makes PE/// so special?
Eco-friendly, high quality, limited edition, hand screen printing and design from experienced artists and designers who create close client business relationships that allow our customers to feel in control of their project.

How are you an “eco-friendly” screen printing studio?
We exclusively use non-toxic, water-based inks and emulsion. We ban the use of highly toxic plastisol and oil-based inks, which also
require highly toxic chemicals for the cleaning and preparation of screens. In addition, wherever and whenever possible, we reuse and
recycle materials. So, from the reusable towels we use to the process and preparation of the final project, we try to make the smallest
negative impact on the environment possible.

What are the main differences between printing with water-based inks and printing with plastisol or oil-based inks?
Water-based inks, unlike plastisol and oil-based inks, make little to no environmental impact. The most common difference between these
kinds of inks is apparent in garment or textile printing. Plastisol inks, which are essentially liquid PVC, tend to “sit” on top of fabric, and can
even appear “puffy” and stiff. Water-based inks actually dye the fabric they are applied to, lending garments printed with water-based inks a smooth, soft and comfortable appearance. When it comes to printing on paper, plastisol inks are not used, and the choice between water
based and oil-based inks is mostly one of preference. Since water-based inks are both environmentally friendly and friendly to those who
are using them (no nasty stuff to inhale when printing), we stick with the former. We should note, however, that the downside of working with water-based inks is that they dry much faster than other inks. Since the base of this kind of ink easily and quickly evaporates, when working
with water-based inks a printer needs to be fast, efficient, and attentive to his or her screen(s) and inks.

What kinds of factors go into your pricing?
First, we check to make sure your image(s) is/are correctly separated and ready to print on film. If not, we will ask you to make corrections or
we will charge you to correct the image(s) ourselves. When drawing up an invoice, we include our price of the paper or apparel we are printing on (if it is supplied by us), a basic set-up fee, the cost of printing film, and the price per pull (each time ink is applied to the paper or fabric). We are certainly willing to work with you and your budget to meet your needs and the demands of your project.
